Our services

Kenowa Builders provides residential construction services and consulting in Kent and Ottawa
counties, having refined its vision of what a home is, and what that home means to the family that lives in it, through more than 46 years of experience constructing hundreds of homes that put quality craftsmanship and high aesthetics at the forefront of everything they do. For Wally Wyma, the focus of his business remains on three principles: comfort, value and practicality.

Wally Wyma began working with company founder, his father-in-law and mentor David Visser, early in his career and turned the thriving home building enterprise into a family business that has served the area well. Wally, also a licensed real estate broker, introduced his sons, Cory and Nick, to the business in much the same way he was brought along, and has been rewarded by their continued dedication to home building, quality craftsmanship and fine customer service ever since.

We always look at the floor plan through the perspective of a family that will grow and have changing needs in this home. We work with families to create beautiful and safe homes that are what they desire today and are mindful of what is anticipated for years to come.

Our story

Kenowa Builders is a family owned business that serves families. We don’t just build to spec, build to code, or build to plan—we build to exceed expectations. The value of our experience comes from serving our clients, and from building homes for ourselves, to meet the near- and long-term needs of family growth and change. We build homes with quality of life in mind, for the safety of children, for the needs of a person with disabilities, for the preferences of homeowners who are mindful of energy efficiencies and size and dimension standards.

Wally Wyma has been at the helm of Kenowa Builders for nearly 30 years, maintaining the quality of craftsmanship their customers expect and sustaining vital relationships with area suppliers and vendors. Wally and his sons, Cory and Nick, carry on a tradition of loyalty and quality in the home construction business that began 46 years ago.

A 20-year resident of a home he built in one of his own developments, Wally expanded the floor plan to include living quarters that ideally accommodate the needs of his mentor and father-in-law, company founder and family patriarch David Visser. A home should be able to grow and change as the needs of a family grow and change.

“The aspect of my work that interests me most is realizing an idea and making plans that extend six to eight months out, and then be able to see that plan and vision come to life.”
